Coton Piping

Tricks of Using Cotton Piping

Some tricks to consider when working with cotton piping can make your work easier and more enjoyable:

  1. Iron the bias: Ironing the bias before use ensures that it sews smoothly and easily.
  2. Correct Sewing Technique: Pinning or basting the cotton bias before sewing it to the fabric prevents slippage and gives a more professional look.
  3. Corner Turns: When working with angled edges, you can stretch the bias to adapt to the corners. For this process, it is effective to lightly iron the bias.
  4. Sewing Machine Settings: If you are using a sewing machine, it is important to choose a needle that matches the thickness of the bias. Smaller stitch length should be preferred for thin bias.

When worked with the right techniques, cotton piping offers excellent results in both functional and aesthetic terms.
